The American Board of Fluency and Fluency Disorders (ABFFD) is a professional organization dedicated to promoting high standards in the training and service delivery for fluency disorders like stuttering and cluttering.

Its mission is to ensure that speech-language pathologists (SLPs) with advanced expertise in fluency disorders are accessible to the public. These specialists hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and have demonstrated mastery in diagnosing and treating fluency issues.

The ABFFD was established in 1998 as the first ASHA-recognized specialty board. It works to certify professionals, educate the public on the benefits of working with certified specialists, and provide a directory of these experts. This initiative was supported by organizations like the National Stuttering Association and the Stuttering Foundation of America to improve care quality for those with fluency challenges.
